I just discovered this alphabetics website. I’m going to try it out on my daughter. I suspect they won’t like it as much as some other sites with more bells and whistles, but I think the site’s activities are probably good at teaching alphabetics.
No one could successfully accuse and convict me of being a fan of Rammstein, but I think I might like the earlier underground music that came before the band. The underground bands were constantly pushing the limits of the German Democratic Republic (DDR).
I made this discovery while listening to this interview with Paul Landers (Radio Goethe). I enjoyed the old and weird music of Paul Landers and I liked his descriptions of making music in the DDR and of what life was like in the transition after the wall fell.
With some exceptions, this playlist includes German music that: (1) was recorded in the 1980s or 1990s by German groups, (2) has German lyrics, and (3) doesn’t suck.
